2023 Year in Review

We exist to help people who are far from God find REAL LIFE in Christ.

We are not the kind of church that excuses ourselves from the good and hard things in people’s lives. Instead, as Jesus followers, we choose to jump into the stories all around us and stay awhile. RealLife Stories are one way to share how Jesus is showing up in our community, our church, and in our relationships.

PASTOR LETTER

Everything we do is connected to a soul

As this year draws to a close we want to take the opportunity to reflect on the many ways God has used RealLife to make an impact, locally and internationally. Our methods are often changing, but our mission remains the same: To help people who are far from God find Real Life in Christ. Together, as we learn, invest, follow, and engage, we will do things other churches aren’t doing to reach people other churches are not reaching. As you read through all that God is doing through RealLife, I hope you are overwhelmed with gratefulness for all that was accomplished, appreciation for the staff and volunteers, and anticipation for where God is leading us into the future.

By the time you reach the bottom of this page, I pray you would be encouraged, your faith built up, and that you would join me in believing God for even greater things in 2024.

LEARN

One of the most reliable ways to experience real life in Christ is to study what the Bible says about who God is, together.

REALKIDS

“Our RealKids Ministry exists to engage children in fun and active ways that inspire their faith. We hope to have open dialogue about faith and hear about a God that never changes and loves them no matter what! By the time kids reach age 13, a person’s worldview is largely set. It has never been more important to come alongside parents to impact the next generation!

Our volunteers will keep showing up, week after week, and instill in our RealKids a sense of self-worth and who they are in Christ. We strive to teach a message that grows leaders, engages parents, builds community and influences service. Culture and life stages change, but God and His message are timeless!”

– Ellen VanEpps

YOUTH

“We tend to think of teenagers as the future of the church, but God constantly used teenagers like David, Esther and Mary to carry out His mission! Yes, teenagers are the future of the church, but they are also important members of the church today.

Not only that, but the teen years are some of the most formative times in a person’s life. This is the perfect opportunity to invest our time, energy and money into their spiritual lives. This is a calling I am blessed to have. On top of that, I get to do this in an incredibly supportive church. From the dozens of volunteers I lead with to the meals, camp scholarships, shared resources and prayers we receive constantly, we literally get to do the most fun and important work in the most supportive place!”

INVEST

We serve and enjoy one another in love, together.

RealLife Groups

LIFE Groups help us experience real life in Christ. Our Sunday services are too big to build meaningful community and honestly, that’s not even our Sunday goal. So how do we stay faithful to God’s call to reach out and make disciples, but still be able to connect in a more relational setting for community? Through RealLife Groups!

FOLLOW

Spiritual practices and application of what we learn enable us to follow Jesus’ example and strengthen our faith as followers, together.

“Thank you to everyone who publicly declared their love for Jesus and the family members and friends who came to support them. We love celebrating those who have found real life in Christ!”

– Pastor Megan Johnson

“I want to get baptized because I want to show everyone that I love God and I want to promise that I will always love God even when it gets hard like when someone dies. I want to be baptized in ice cold water because then God will know I really mean it.”

– Heston Dixon (Age 8)

WORSHIP NIGHT

This year we gathered quarterly as a church. We value our worship team and your participation in prayer, communion, and singing at worship nights. The youth and young adults also gathered in homes and back yards, mission trips, retreats and camps to worship.

LOOKING FORWARD

Our future is bright and we can’t wait to see what God does next year.

BREWSTER

“The vision for the future is to continue finding ways to help people who are far from God to find real life in Christ. Currently, we are looking to find more avenues of outreach and supporting those who are in need in the area. I would love to see our campus have a Youth Group at some point and continue growing with Small groups as well. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will show us where God is already moving and working in our area and for us to be open to following that work instead of our own.”

– Billy Bosch

Chelan

We are excited about two big adventures for 2024. First of all, we will be moving into our new church home at the Lake Chelan Community Center sometime after the first of the year. Buildings are important because people are important. We are so delighted to partner with other groups in making our community better for everyone.
The second adventure God is launching us on is the start-up of Celebrate Recovery, a Christian-based 12-step program that helps those who are struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups. Standby for more information as we enter the new year. Thank you for your prayers, generosity, participation and faith. God has
been so good to us this year and we are praying and planning for Him to accomplish gigantic things in the coming year.
